Savory Sausage Swirls with Honey Butter

www.piecrustandpixiedust.com

We used Kodiak Cakes all purpose baking mix and followed the instructions for "pizza crust" on the back of the box.  From that recipe we did the following....

Author: www.piecrustandpixiedust.com
Ingredients
  • 1 8 oz. container whipped cream cheese
  • 12 oz. pre-coooked ground turkey sausage
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped chives
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 2 tbsp butter
For Honey Butter
  • 3 tbsp melted butter
  • 2 tbsp honey
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Once you have made the Kodiak Cakes "pizza crust" as referenced on the back of their All Purpose Baking Mix Box, do the following.

  3. Once your dough has risen, roll the dough out on a lightly floured counter into a long rectangular shape.

  4. Spread cream cheese down the center of the entire rectangle of dough.

  5. Sprinkle turkey sausage over all of the cream cheese.

  6. Add chives, salt, pepper and butter.

  7. Roll the dough with all of it's yummy contents into a long cylinder.  Cut into one inch slices.

  8. Place one inch slices on a parchment paper covered baking sheet and bake for about 10 minutes.

  9. Microwave honey and 3 tablespoons of butter in a small microwave safe dish until melted.  Stir and pour over turkey sausage swirls.  Serve hot!
